Conference Music Ideas

Spending a little time deciding on some great music for your conference is a worthwhile and easy way to add fun and enjoyment. Don’t just leave this up to the AV Team who are probably just doing their job. I suggest if you can find someone to take on the role of music coordinator. Ask around your team or delegates and you will often find someone who does some DJ work on the side or is just keen on music.

They can either just have music ready for the AV people to play or sit with them and drive the sound. An ipod, ipad or laptop is easily patched into the main sound system.

Here are some moments that music can be used to enhance the conference -

  • Atmosphere when people enter the room in the morning
  • Signal that you have broken for a break
  • Signal that they should come back into the room
  • Short “stings” when people walk on stage
  • Quiet music to play when groups are discussing topics or people are reflecting on actions they should take after the event
  • Mood Lifters

Even if you don’t go as far as having someone coordinate your music, at least get the AV people ready to cover those basic spots.
